Canberra Raiders star Sia Soliola doesn’t look like this anymore…
Canberra Raiders big man, Sia Soliola, is going to look a little different next season.
He’s well known for his big, mop of hair. And regardless of whether you’re an NRL fan or not, it’s probably one of the most recognisable afros in Australia.
Well, it’s now gone.
You might think it’s because his hair was getting in his face while playing…but it’s actually to raise money for the youth organisation, Kulture Break.

After having a couple of days to reflect. What can I say, I’m so overwhelmed by all the unexpected love, support and generosity from this event. While the team processing the final outcome. Established in 2002, Kulture Break is a Canberra based charity youth services provider, with a particular focus on performance and the arts. They provide a safe, active and productive space for struggling youth, to use the fine arts as a form of expression, and to empower themselves.
Founder and CEO Francis Owusu tells John and Erin (who’s also an ambassador for Kulture Break), Sia’s locks helped raise another $50,000!
