Cruel trolls mock model who fell to her death from Sydney cliff

Mark Levy is campaigning for stronger laws targeting online bullies after a British model was viciously attacked after falling to her death from a Sydney cliff.

Online trolls have been tormenting the family of 21-year-old model Madalyn Davis, who died after she fell from a popular photo spot in Vaucluse.

Her mother has begged people to stop mocking the death of her daughter and calling her stupid, stating she simply made a mistake and didn’t deserve to die.

Mark Levy, who has himself been the subject of vicious online attacks, says it’s “a serious problem” and legislation needs to be brought in to target trolls.

“This is just a scourge at the moment in society that has got to stop.”

Federal Minister for Communications, Cyber Safety and the Arts Paul Fletcher says the government is working on further laws to protect people, especially children, from cyberbullying.

“At this year’s election what we promised to do was introduce a new, stronger online safety act, and we’re just consulting on that at the moment.”
