Inspirational walk to fight incurable childhood disease

Article image for Inspirational walk to fight incurable childhood disease

A father is leading a 157-kilometre charity walk to raise money to help those living with Duchenne Muscular Dystrophy.

Eli Eid’s son has the rare debilitating genetic disorder, which usually affects boys and is the most common childhood muscle disease.

The Save Our Sons founder has raised almost $10-million for research and tells Alan Jones doctors are edging closer to finding a treatment and hopefully even a cure.

“We are getting closer, I do know that we already have six trials happening in Australia, which is great.

“We’re not talking lab rats, we’re talking actual phase two, phase three human clinical trials.”
